As a player visiting Durban and training and playing alongside the stars of tomorrow at the home of The Super 14 Sharks, you’ll have an amazing opportunity to test and expand your own playing skills!

As part of your involvement in the Rugby Programme, you will:

• Play rugby: Depending on your ability, you will be attached to either a Premier of First Division club in Durban. You will train twice a week and play for the club on a weekly basis, giving you valuable coaching and exposure to rugby heavy weights who can make it happen for you if you prove your talents, passion and ability! (Gap Year Programme)
• Train at The Sharks Academy: Follow in the footsteps of Superboks and Super 14 greats by joining the full time Academy players for two skills sessions per week, training alongside Sharks and SA U19/U21 players, being coached by the Academy staff – people with connections to people of influence! Rugby training will focus predominantly on developing and improving Core Rugby Skills, as well as team play. This is designed to help players understand the game of rugby better with regards to their position and also team structures. (Both programmes)
• Undertake Conditioning Training: You will be assessed and placed on a personal physical conditioning programme, tailored personally to your position and requirements. In addition, you will work-out daily at the Academy Gym under the supervision of fitness staff. Prove yourself here as a stand out and word will get around – even to the right people!
